Rhinoplasty in Women
“The goal of RHINOPLASTY is to HARMONIZE the face and improve PROPORTIONS. Always in a COMPLETELY NATURAL way.”
The best profile in harmony with the face
Nose surgery or rhinoplasty is one of the most common procedures in aesthetic surgery. Changes in the shape of the nose are one of the aesthetic concerns that can cause the greatest psychological distress. Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting nasal deformities by modifying its shape, which leads to an improvement in facial balance and harmony.
Each rhinoplasty is a different case that must be evaluated carefully. It is not only about reducing or increasing the size of the nose, but about adapting it to the unique facial traits and characteristics of each person. In this type of aesthetic surgery, dialogue with the patient is especially important, in order to align the patient’s wishes and expectations with the realistic possibilities for improvement that the procedure can offer.
In addition to being a key element of facial aesthetics, the nose is a respiratory organ whose function is highly important. As Dr. Pablo Casas is a specialist in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery, he always considers both concepts—function and aesthetics—and treats them as inseparable.
SURGICAL PROCEDURE
As with any procedure, a preoperative medical examination is essential to detect any potential abnormality that could contraindicate surgery.
Rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. It is carried out through incisions inside the nostrils, allowing Dr. Pablo Casas to sculpt and reshape the nasal bones and cartilage and create a new structure. In this way, the skin and membranes retract and adapt until the desired shape is achieved.
At the end of the operation, the patient leaves the operating room with light nasal packing and with a splint covering the nose.
The patient stays overnight in the clinic on the night of surgery and is discharged the following morning.
During the first few days, swelling and bruising may appear in nearby areas, especially around the eyelids. Thanks to Dr. Casas’ Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty technique, he does not need to leave packing inside the nose, which is much more comfortable for the patient. The splint covering the nose is removed after one week.
THE DR. PABLO CASAS DIFFERENCE
It is true that patients who come to Dr. Pablo Casas to address both functional and aesthetic concerns benefit from the ease and simplicity of a single surgery, but the real advantage lies in Dr. Pablo Casas’ unique approach.
Most plastic surgeons, when performing a rhinoplasty, apply a “reductive” methodology—meaning they simply remove parts of the nose to make it smaller, without considering nasal structure and support.
Although this method may initially give patients the appearance they want, it significantly weakens the nose and may later lead to abnormal scarring, causing breathing problems and the gradual collapse of nasal structures.
Over the years, Dr. Casas has developed and refined a superior approach known as “structural” rhinoplasty. This approach is based on the idea that rhinoplasty requires not only reshaping, but also reconstruction—building the correct structure to withstand the passage of time and the forces of healing.
Using fundamental concepts from architecture and engineering, Dr. Pablo Casas uses the patient’s own cartilage to build “beams” and “struts” that reinforce the nose in areas weakened by the procedure. This approach has been shown to provide superior aesthetic results.
Most importantly, it ensures that patients do not end up suffering from the abnormal scarring problems, nasal collapse, and poor breathing that were so frequently reported by patients who had undergone rhinoplasty in the past.
Dr. Pablo Casas’ goal is to create the optimal nose from the inside out. The result is a nose with an aesthetically pleasing shape and perfect breathing function. Many patients do not realize until after surgery how poorly they were breathing before. In these cases, the improvement in quality of life is remarkable.
